Balsamic Glazed Chicken

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp dried oregano (or fresh)

For the Balsamic Glaze

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp local honey

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • ½ tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp water


Instructions

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.

  2. Heat olive oil in a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 6–8 minutes.

  4. Flip once and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  5. While chicken cooks, whisk balsamic vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic in a small saucepan over medium heat.

  6. Bring to a simmer and stir in cornstarch slurry (cornstarch + water) to thicken, about 2 minutes.

  7. Once chicken is cooked, pour balsamic glaze over it in the skillet, coating for 1–2 minutes.

  8. Remove from heat, let rest for 3 minutes, then slice. Serve with steamed vegetables or a light salad.
