Ingredients
For the Chicken
-
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-
1 tsp olive oil
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp dried oregano (or fresh)
For the Balsamic Glaze
-
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
-
1 tbsp local honey
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
½ tsp cornstarch
-
1 tsp water
Instructions
-
Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
-
Heat olive oil in a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 6–8 minutes.
-
Flip once and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
-
While chicken cooks, whisk balsamic vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic in a small saucepan over medium heat.
-
Bring to a simmer and stir in cornstarch slurry (cornstarch + water) to thicken, about 2 minutes.
-
Once chicken is cooked, pour balsamic glaze over it in the skillet, coating for 1–2 minutes.
-
Remove from heat, let rest for 3 minutes, then slice. Serve with steamed vegetables or a light salad.
